A Study of Revelation · Lesson 11
A Throne Above All
This message opens Revelation 4 by showing that, although we live in a limited earthly perspective, heaven and the spiritual realm are real and accessible through Christ. John is invited through an open door into the ultimate reality: God seated upon the throne, ruling a universe marked by divine order, radiant beauty, and perfect holiness. The throne, rainbow, elders, sevenfold Spirit, sea of glass, and living creatures all testify that God is sovereign over creation, evil, history, and redemption. As our hearts are renewed, we learn to recognize the true beauty of God’s holiness and live in readiness for the day when His complete redemption is fully revealed.
"And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.
