What we keep, why we keep it, and who never sees it.
What we keep
If you join our text list we keep your mobile number, and your name and email address if you gave them. If you are already in our church records we note there that you have said yes to texts, and when.
Why
So that we can text you, and so that we can show we had your permission to. That is the whole of it.
Who we share it with
No mobile information is sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party.
The messages themselves are carried by our messaging provider and by your own phone company, because that is how a text reaches a phone. Neither may use your number for anything but delivering our message to you.
How long
Until you ask us to stop, and then we keep a note that you did — so that nobody puts you back on by mistake. If you would like your details removed altogether, ring the office and we will do it.
Who can see it inside the church
The office staff and the volunteers who send the messages. Our records are behind a password and each person only sees the parts of them their work needs.
Children
We do not knowingly add anybody under 13 to the text list.
Changes
If this changes we will put the new version on this page. Anything that would change what we text you about, we will tell you about first.
Asking us anything
Ring the church office or use the contact page. A person reads those.
